Class FAQs

What time should we arrive for class?

We recommend arriving 5 minutes early to allow your child time to get settled and ready to create. Classes start promptly at the scheduled time.

What are the drop-off and pick-up procedures?

• Drop-Off: Parents may walk their child into the studio or drop them off at the door. A staff member will be there to greet them.

• Pick-Up: Please arrive on time for pick-up. Children will only be released to a parent or pre-approved adult listed on your registration.

• If someone new will be picking up your child, please let us know in advance.

What should my child wear?

Art can be messy—and that’s part of the fun!

We recommend:

• Comfortable clothes that can get paint, glue, or other creative mess on them

• We will provide an apron for messy projects, but "art clothes" are always recommended!

Will there be snacks or drinks?

No snacks are provided during class time as we are in "creative mode" from start to finish! You are welcome to send your child with a labeled water bottle. For longer events (like camps or pop-up classes), separate snack/meal details will be provided.

What if I need to miss a class?
We encourage regular attendance so students can get the most out of each session, but we understand that life happens! While we do not offer make-up classes, we will do our best to send home any available materials or provide a modified version of the project when possible. Because our classes build from week to week and supplies may be limited, we may not always be able to recreate missed activities or catch students up if the class has already moved on. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming your child back to class at the next session.

*Make sure to review our Policies Page for more information on missing class.

Can I stay in class with my child?
For classes ages 5 and up, we ask that parents say goodbye at the door. While we know it can be hard to leave, we've found that children are often more confident, creative, and independent when they participate on their own. Our instructors are there to support and encourage each student, and we can't wait for you to see what they create!

Who can I contact with questions or if my child has special needs?

You can always reach out to us at jen@joycreativeartstudio.com.
